The Management Team has had both accomplishments and challenges this summer.

Let's start with the accomplishments!

  • The pastors' offices have been repainted and look great.
  • The west-side steps and wheelchair ramp are complete, making the church more accessible and safe for everyone, especially in the winter. We are just waiting to get the final approval from city inspectors.
  • The front steps and walkway on the east side of the church are also being replaced.
  • Finally, we have installed new doors at the back of the parking lot and in the CE wing. Work is progressing and will be finished in a few weeks.

Our church is over 100 years old and historic buildings come with challenges. Our current challenge is the steam boiler which has corroded prematurely and is not working. We will install temporary heating this winter while we research more permanent solutions, including the use of heat pumps and other measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Lastly, with great sorrow the church ended the employment relationship with our long-time senior pastor, Mike Wilkins. Although no longer serving in a professional capacity, Mike and Pam will continue to be loved and valued members of both our community and our church.
