This Sunday we launched our 30 Days of Prayer. For the next month, each Sunday service will have a special focus on prayer and worship. This week we spent time with the following verses:

For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Isaiah 43:19

I have heard all about you, Lord.
I am filled with awe by your amazing works.
In this time of our deep need,
help us again as you did in years gone by.
Habakkuk 3:2a

Runnymede Community Church is in a season of transition, and we believe that this time of transition is an opportunity for transformational renewal– a renewal of our spiritual health and vitality, and a renewal of the ministry vision for serving our neighbours in Bloor West Village. Prayer is essential as we continue on our Amazing Journey to “God knows where.” We believe God wants this time to be full of new ideas, to dream new dreams, to find the “streams in the desert” that Isaiah 43:19 speaks of. God is doing a new thing in the life of this congregation, and prayer is our direct line to His purposes and plans for us.

For the next 30 days, we will be praying together that God will speak to us about these questions:

  • What is RCC’s “niche” in the Kingdom?
  • What is our unique gift as a congregation?
  • What is God specifically calling RCC to do, and for whom, in our neighbourhood?

My hope is that we will all be spiritually enlivened, encouraged, and energized by taking these 30 days to purposefully connect with Father, Son and Spirit through prayer. May the Spirit open our hearts and minds to God’s plans for us.
